Happiness Always!

  Finally, I got the chance to play again in Kristina's Color Inspiration Challenge!

This week's colors were Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pink Pirouette & Whisper White.

For the background I used the pink polka dot paper from the Bella Rose designer series paper. The sentiment comes from the Inspired from Nature stamp set. I used a small chocolate felt flower from the Flower fusions and a rhinestone brad to add a little bling.

 

 

 

 

 

 

  The main embellishment is the butterfly die cuts from the Beautiful butterflies bigz dies and is cut from patterned paper from Bella Rose dsp and textured Close to cocoa cardstock. I added 3 half pearls from the Pretties kit and twisted some wire for the antennas.

The piece of Whisper white was put through the Big Shot machine with the Texturz plates.

How Sweet!

  This is a design from a recent card class that I taught. I used Riding hood red cardstock and the Bella rose designer series paper, which was cut using the Big shot and the Top Note bigz die. I used the Kiwi kiss/Very vanilla double sided satin ribbon to cover the seam.

 

 

 

 

 

  The main image was stamped in Riding hood red using the Cute & curly stamp set which is part of the Curly label punch bundle. It's punched with the Curly label punch of course. I added a small flower cut from the dsp paper to the edge with a tiny rhinestone brad. The sentiment comes from a retired set called So Very.

Mystery Hostess Projects!

  These are the three projects that everyone made on Saturday night at my Mystery Hostess Party.

This card was made using creamy caramel & whisper white cardstock. The patterned paper is the Parisian Breeze specialty paper, which is textured, cover-weight cardstock. It's double-sided and comes in gorgeous designs. I used the Simple salutations stamp set, the Designer label and the Wide oval punch and the Chocolate chip double stitched grosgrain ribbon.

 

Everyone also got to try the Big Shot machine. We used it to create the small dots on the whisper white using the Texturz plates. Then we also used the Simple flower embosslits to cut out & emboss the main image. We used the sponge dauber to add a little color to the flower. Then added a button from the Button Latte collection.

 

The next project is a Ribbon bookmark using either the Baja breeze or Kiwi kiss striped grosgrain ribbon, the Scallop circle punch, the 1 1/4" circle punch and the Five petal flower punch. The flower image is from the Sale-a-bration stamp set called Polka dot punches. A silver brad was added to the center. The designer series paper used was Urban garden. At the end of the ribbon they could have chosen between the Filigree or Flower designer brads.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The last project was a 6 X 6 scrapbook page using the butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz dies and the Big Shot machine, the Polka-dot punches stamp set and the Delicate Dots designer series paper, which is a Sale-a-bration freebie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The colors used were Certainly celery and So Saffron.

Happy Birthday to Me!

 

My daughter, Danielle, made this beautiful birthday card for me last Sunday. I absolutely LOVE it!! She did such a great job, didn't she?

She used Old olive, Taken with teal, Rose red, Pretty in pink & whisper white cardstock. The crimper and the scallop edge punch was used.

 

   

She used the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set, stamping the tier of cupcakes in basic black and cutting each one out. All the cherries were glittered with coordinating glitter and the 2 way glue pen. They were attached with Stampin' dimensionals.

Dream!

  I combined 2 challenges for this one- Kristina's color inspiration #31 and Paper craft planet's sketch.

The colors for today are Pumpkin pie, Elegant eggplant, Close to cocoa, So saffron & whisper white.

I used the Happiness Always hostess set inking the flowers in saffron, rolling the edges with eggplant and using the pumpkin marker to highlight the inside petals.

The center of the flowers were stamped in cocoa twice, then layered with Stampin' Dimensionals and glossed with Crystal effects.

The saffron layer was textured using the crimper.

Color Inspiration #30

Look how gorgeous this picture is? The colors are so soothing and serene. I love all the Color Inspiration Challenges that Kristina comes up with.

This week the colors were Old olive, Certainly celery, Sahara sand & Whisper white.

 

 

 

I used the Baroque Motifs stamp set for the flourishes in Old olive.

Celery grosgrain ribbon is tied around the card and tied into a knot.

The sentiment comes from the Always set and is stamped in Old olive.

 

 

The main image from Baroque motifs was stamped in celery, cut out and mounted on Sahara sand. It was adorned with a punched Boho blossoms and rhinestone brad. Everything was attached with Stampin' dimensionals.

Cupcakes for you!

  For the card today, I used the sketch from Jen, and the inspiration challenge at Our Creative Corner. 

The colors that I used were Riding hood red, Pink pirouette and Chocolate chip. The patterned paper is from the Bella Rose Designer series paper.

The sentiment is from the hostess set, Best yet and is punched with the 1 1/4" circle, layered on the 1 3/8" circle and then on the scallop circle.

The Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon is used around the card.

 

 

 

 

The main image is from the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set. They are stamped twice in Basic brown and colored in with markers. The top layer is adhered with stampin' dimensionals. The icing was "frosted" with tombow glue & dazzling diamonds. The cherry was glazed with Crystal effects.

Color Inspiration #29

  Wow, these weeks are just flying by. It's time for another Color Inspiration Challenge from Kristina! This week's colors are Pacific point, Taken with Teal (which I omitted), Elegant eggplant, Pumpkin pie & Whisper white.

 

 

 

 

I found it really hard to use these colors together but I'm happy with how it turned out. I used a sketch from Splitcoast this week. 

The flowers are from the Eastern Blooms stamp set and are stamped with eggplant ink. I colored the centers with the pumpkin pie marker. They're layered on a Scallop square punch out and attached with Stampin' dimensionals.

The sentiment comes from the Best Yet hostess set. The Pacific point striped ribbon was tied around the cardfront.

Quick Origami Tree Tutorial

 

So many people have asked me how I did the tree on this card so I put together a quick tutorial. If you have any questions, just let me know.

You are going to repeat the steps for each square. The four squares measure 3", 2 1/2", 2" and 1 1/2".

Use a bone folder when folding to get good creases.

Thinner decorative paper works better than cardstock.

 

With good side down, fold paper diagonally corner to corner both ways. Then, fold in half. Dotted lines show how the fold lines will look.

 

Fold paper in half by creasing on the diagonal folds and pushing the half fold towards center as shown in the picture.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is how it should look held upright.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Then you will fold the right side towards the center making sure the edge is straight down the middle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Finally, you will do the same on the left side making sure the center lines meet.

Repeat these steps to all 4 squares. Adhere to your card starting with the smallest. Place the next tip inside the previous one until you are done.

Be Merry with Mr. Twigster!

  This is the 3rd card that I made for my upline's challenge. I stamped Mr. Twigster with Black stazon so I could watercolor him with Bashful blue. Then I colored in the rest with markers. The presents were stamped on a piece of scrap paper, cut out and adhered with a Stampin' dimensional.

The designer series paper is from the Bella Rose package.

The sentiment is from the Warm words stamp set that is on the dormant list. It's punched with the 1 1/4" circle punch and layered on the 1 3/8" circle punch.
